Cplatt, your blog entries appear on the front page such that you look like a regular member of the community, a neighbour, not a salesman. Next time you go to a cocktail party at your friend's house and a gatecrasher your friend doesn't even know comes up and goes, "Hi, my name's Jim. Listen, Cplatt, what do you think of this insurance deal?" and thrusts some forms to your hand and says, "Now would you like to take part in my insurance survey...? I have a van outside with insurance application forms, if you're interested." Will you feel this is perfectly appropriate conduct? Or will you tell him he's an unwelcome intruder at the party under false pretences and you'd have more sense than to buy anything from someone who can't see what's objectionable in gatecrashing a cocktail party to subject people to a sales pitch? Just because BT says it's OK doesn't make it OK. If you still can't see what's wrong with it, read my blog for today.

Thank you for your reply to answer your questions
1. No, but I found nothing to say that we could not put our webpage on for comments
2. We do not pay blog for this space.
3. There was an article on btbusiness broadband for small business to use blog as an aid.
We are a new small business and cannot afford to compete with the big boys on google etc. We are on google but way done the list and pay a lot of money out for advertising. We are a fledgling company who would be foolish to ignore this information from a legitimate source. I must say I cannot understand your animosity towards us. I repeat you do not have to go to the website if you do not wish or buy if you do not wish. We did this not only to be noticed but also as a survey for hamper demand and choice.

Cplatt, I'm bemused. You say "we are getting noticed but we were introduced to this site as a way of getting our website noticed by people. This must be above board as it was advertised this way."
Yet when I joined this site, the agreement was NOT to misuse the blog by making it into commercials. I have questions: 1. did blog.co.uk advertise to you that you could advertise-by-blog? 2. Are you paying the site to advertise here? 3. Show me the advertisement that encouraged you to start an advertising blog here, please. Publish a link to it.

I seem to have got Jetser's comment about "slander" and integrity. And I also seem to have got Jetser's completely contradictory comment that "your site" is well laid out etc. I don't have a site. I don't know who Jetser is supposed to represent: the company misusing this blog site or a customer of the company abusing this website.
May I just point out again: there is a facility to advertise on blog.co.uk - the way you see the Google advertisements. Everyone who signs up to teople who use the free blog facility DOES AGREE not to misuse it for unpaid advertising.
So jetser, are you representing the hamper company or are you someone completely unconnected with the hamoper company? Because in you speak as if you are both.

do you even know the meaning of the word integrity? i think you should keep your slanderous comments to yourself.

you seem like very nice people and i can see that you are only looking for feed back. i think your ideas and layout of the site are great and i would definately be encouraged to buy from you and i don't feel pressured at all

We are very sorry you feel that way. Our intention was to get comments and ideas for our website. Yes we are getting noticed but we were introduced to this site as a way of getting our website noticed by people. This must be above board as it was advertised this way and we would not do anything underhand intentionally. I must take offence at being called 'thieves' and questioning our integrity. It is your choice whether you go to our site or not. We have no gismos' on there that take you straight to our site or try to persuade you to buy anything.

What do I think? I think you look awfully like thieves stealing unpaid advertising space and breaking your registration agreement with this site. I'll be sure to mention your standards of integrity to anyone I can think of.
